IMS Manager

The role of the Manager of Integrated Management Systems (IMS) is to oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of the integrated management systems within the organisation. An Integrated Management System combines several management standards, such as quality management, environmental management, occupational health and safety management, and information security management. This integrated approach enables organisations to better coordinate their operations and meet various requirements for system management.

Main Responsibilities:

• Responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining the integrated management system within the organisation. This includes identifying relevant standards (e.g., ISO 9001 for quality management, ISO 14001 for environmental management, and ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety management) and establishing harmonised processes.
• Collaborates with various departments and teams to ensure that standards and requirements are met throughout the organisation.
• Conducts internal audits and assessments of the IMS to ensure its effectiveness and alignment with the organization's goals.
• Provides training to employees regarding the IMS and its requirements, and monitors changes in standards and their impact on the organisation.
• Works with the organization's leadership to establish policies and objectives related to quality, environment, and safety and subsequently implements them.
• Plans and monitors the performance of the IMS, including tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
• Collaborates with external assessors or certification bodies during the organization's certification process for individual standards.
• Identifies and implements process improvements within the IMS to achieve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Maintains an overview of all documents and records related to the IMS and their auditability.
• Identifies risks associated with quality, environmental, and safety management and implements measures to minimise or eliminate them.
• Ensures that the organisation complies with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements in the areas of quality, environment, and safety.

Necessary Skills / Requirements and Skills:

• Thorough knowledge of relevant standards such as ISO 9001 for quality management, ISO 14001 for environmental management, ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety management, and other standards used by the organisation
• Requires knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements pertaining to IMS areas, including quality, environment, and safety.
• The IMS manager should be an effective leader, capable of motivating and guiding teams towards achieving IMS and organisational goals.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills; managerial expertise
• The ability to identify and mitigate risks as well as devise innovative solutions
• The ability to collaborate with organisational leadership in setting up IMS policies and objectives and ensuring their effective implementation
