Participants will become familiar with methods of statistical process control (SPC). Learn the basics of sampling and evaluating continuous and attributive data and usage of Control charts. The participants obtain knowledge of process capability evaluation (Cpk, Ppk) for the short- and long-term period and how to determine the capability of the machine (Cmk) according to the AIAG SPC Handbook 2nd edition.

Course content
- What is SPC and what is the SPC scope?
- History and application of SPC. SPC effectivity in practice.
- Basic definitions in SPC, normal distribution, mean, modus, median, standard deviation, another probability distribution
- Statistical tools used in practice - pareto analysis, Run chart, Histogram, Boxplot, Multivariate analysis
- Correlation diagram, correlation types, creation and analysis of control charts
- Statistical Process Control for continuous data (methods and examples) -Xbar-R, Xbar-S and I-MR control charts.
- Statistical Process Control for attributive data (methods and examples) – C, U, Np, P control charts
- Exercise: How to choose proper type of control chart?
- Process and equipment capability analysis –of long-term and short-term impacts, capability indexes Cp, Cpk, Ppk calculation and interpretation, Cmk – capability index of machine
- Process capability, indicators and critetria for discrete data (DPU, DPMO, ppm)
- SPC implementation by using of statistical software vice-versa by using MS Excel
- Exercise
