Module 1 - Basics of AI and Safe Use – Beginner

Course objectives

The aim of the training is to gain a basic understanding of AI concepts, differences between types of tools, security risks, and to learn how to create effective prompts. The participant will understand what AI is and how it works, will be able to create their own effective prompts, gain confidence in using AI tools safely in everyday work, and identify the risks and limitations of artificial intelligence.

Course content

• Introduction to Artificial Intelligence: history, development, trends (e.g. how ChatGPT has evolved, the difference between AI and regular automation or a chatbot)
• Differences between AI, ML, LLM and automation (practical examples: predictive models vs. rule-based systems)
• Overview of types of AI tools: generative (ChatGPT), analytical (Power BI + AI), automation tools (Make/Integromat)
• How language models work (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini...) + live demo: how AI generates a response – https://teachablemachine.withgoogle.com/
• Practical demonstrations: what AI "can do" and where it makes mistakes (hallucinations, bias)
• Creating effective prompts: the 3P structure (position, prompt, precision), techniques: chain-of-thought, roleplay
• Risks of using AI: inaccuracies, trustworthiness of outputs, misuse of outputs
• Ethical dilemmas, legislation, GDPR, responsible use of AI in the company
