Course objectives

The objective of this module is to learn how to read all the information displayed on the technical drawing, as well as to recognize the basic components of the engineering technology and machines. This module also deals with how to understand the principles and methods of measurements.

• Display of sections and cross-sections.

• Drawing of welds.
• Marking of roughness.
• Prescribing surface treatment and heat treatment
• Drawing threads, screw joints. Rivets.
• Drawing gears. Gearboxes.
• Bearings.

Basics of measurement

• Description of measurement. Measurement methods
• Errors in measurement
• Gauges for measuring lengths, angles, fixed gauges, calipers, templates.
• Calipers and measuring method.
• Micrometers and methods of measurement.
