Science of materials

The objective of this module is to provide a general overview of the materials used in engineering and their basic characteristics. Emphasis is placed on steel and cast iron, because this knowledge will serve as a basis for other subjects. The training will include the internal structure of substances, their behaviour at different temperatures, stresses, etc.
