Fundamentals of engineering

The objective of this module is to explain the basics of Newtonian physics - physical quantities, Newton's laws, force action, force distribution, Hooke's law, and then this knowledge is applied to model calculations of tensile stress, calculation of pins, screws, springs. During the course we will also clarify the relationship between power input and performance, the basics of machine parts (bearings, gear wheel, chain vs. wedge wheel, clutch, gearbox).
