IATF

What is IATF?

IATF stands for The International Automotive Task Force, which is a global working group for the automotive industry. 

IATF was established with the aim of providing customers in the automotive industry worldwide with products of better quality. 

Specific purposes for which IATF was founded include: 

• Achieving consensus on the fundamental international requirements for a quality system, primarily for direct suppliers of participating companies involved in the production of manufacturing materials, component parts, or services, or finishing services (e.g., heat treatment, coating, and plating). 
• Developing policies and procedures for a common IATF third-party registration system to ensure consistency worldwide. 
• Providing appropriate training to support the requirements of IATF 16949 and the IATF registration system. 
• Establishing formal contacts with relevant authorities to support IATF objectives. 

IATF members include companies such as BMW Group, Daimler AG, FCA, Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Jaguar Land Rover Ltd. (JLR), Groupe PSA, Groupe Renault, Volkswagen AG, as well as automotive associations and communities like AIAG (USA), ANFIA (Italy), FIEV (France), SMMT (United Kingdom), and VDA (Germany).
